Coach Miller’s Team Wins Mid Rivers’ 7th GFL Championship

Chesterfield;   With a 40-0 victory over the Chesterfield Bears, Coach Miller’s 7 year old team won the 2008 GFL Championship.   They were alone atop the standings at 7-0.   Unlike other age groups, the 7 year olds do not have a playoff to determine champion, the conference winner of the regular season is declared champion.  

Team Miller’s championship is the first GFL championship for Coach Derrick Miller, its also another validation for MRJFA’s Junior Flag Football program.   18 of the 26 members of Coach Miller’s team participated in the Junior Flag Football program.   Last year’s co-champions Coach Kissell and Coach Grimes also had rosters stacked with Junior Flag alumni.  

Coach Miller’s team heads for Lawrence, Kansas next weekend where they’ll participate in tournament play.
